Whoa - Joey Lawrence Style
Okay, I'm gonna have a male Mira moment here. I just saw that I've got a follower! Don't know when it happened, or how, but I feel validated now :) Thanks, Laura. I imagine anybody coming this way knows Ms. Martone (Mrs. -- so used to agent query ;) as the author of travel guidebooks etc, commenter extraordinaire across the blogosphere, and writer of Hollow Souls, a fascinating premise, particularly if you're like me and like caverns ;) I met her at Bransford's site, of course -- she was this commenter whose name linked to a very cool website showing how to promote one's book -- and then she turned to blogger just a short time ago and is already burning her star across the sky -- okay, I'm not sure what that means, but I'm sticking with it. Thanks Laura... b/c you are the 1st Bane Bandito (i.e., Follower), I have linked to your blog on my sidebar. Not sure if that's an honor or a curse ;), but I'm as giddy as a schoolgirl who just won a double dutch competition.

Ooh, ooh! Now, it's MY turn to a have a Joey Lawrence moment... oh, Blossom, where have you gone?
ReplyDeleteBut I digress...
I just wanted to say, Woohoo! I don't think I've ever been anyone's FIRST follower before... and to be a "Bane Bandito" no less... How cool is that?
Thanks for thanking me (and for linking to my blog - I just did the same for you on my sidebar) - it was utterly unnecessary, but I appreciate it nonetheless. Now, I feel validated, too! Wow, what a great blogosphere... so much love in the air.
For now, I consider it an honor... but we'll see if it morphs into a curse. Only Spiderman could understand the paradox.
And I'm absolutely tickled that my innocent following propelled you to have a "male Mira moment" and be "as giddy as a schoolgirl" - I do love emasculating men so. (Shh, don't tell my hubby. I was just kidding about that last part.)
Bane, you're always entertaining, so here: have another follower.
ReplyDeleteWoohoo -- 3... and now I'm a follower, too... never thought I'd see the day :) -- It'll be my topic for tomorrow, methinks -- how I came down from my lofty (well, from an outsider's POV) perch to be a tad bit more normal.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe I'm old enough to remember the Joey Lawrence "whoa." Congrats on your follower!

ReplyDeleteHi Elana... Thanks -- I love querytracker and your most recent QT blog post is making me itch b/c I queried Mr. Schneider for my most recent MS about a month ago and I'm waiting to hear back... Hopefully, I'll be able to send him some sample pages ;).
ReplyDeleteLike the query letter advice -- I love em-dashes, too -- I had a query where the 1st 3 sentences had the damn things -- had to work really hard to kill a couple :)
What's the deal with the "em" dashes? Do agents hate them or something? I should really start checking out QueryTracker! If only there were 36 hours in the day...
ReplyDeleteQuery Tracker is awesome... and depressing.
