In Which I Celebrate a Step

So, I've been out of blogdom for a-long-long-while (occasionally lurking at the edges). Partially b/c I was chiseling away at a manuscript. Told myself I'd get back into this with sporadic verve when/if success struck. A wise woman (my wife) once told me to celebrate the little steps. When I had my first story pubbed in an Apex anthology, I was stoked for a day, but then it was nose back to grindstone because that wasn't big enough success in my stupid eyes.

But these past several days have been pure awesome (after about 3-4 months of full-on struggle). After going through some serious revision, I signed with agent Ammi-Joan Paquette of EMLA, who is, as one client described her, a wunderkind ("amazing author, agent... and still only in high-school." Almost that young, and a complete sweetheart). Read more about the path over at MSFV.

Now time to get back to the grindstone.

  9. Congratulations, good sir. And yes, absolutely celebrate the little steps, though I consider this to be more than a 'little' step. Good for you!
